MONTELLA: "IT'S BEEN A POSITIVE NIGHT"
A pleased Vincenzo Montella spoke to Milan TV: "Happy for our youngsters". Zanellato: "A dream come true"
After the match that saw us defeat Shkendija, coach Montella spoke to Milan TV commenting on tonight's perfromance and the qualification to the Europa League group stages:
“I am happy with the team's dedication but we could have played better, although I think it's normal since we were had a new system of play which we tried only once in training. I am pleased that we gave a chance to many youngsters. A win is always positive, therefore it's a positive evening.
TEAM'S ATTITUDE AND THE YOUNGSTERS
"I like this team's attitude, also of those who made their debut tonight. I am happy because there's the right spirti. We have to work hard to reach our goals but we are on the right path. We could not take the qualification for granted. We tried to play like we know we can, we have shown some good things but we still need to improve. We know that from now until December it's going to be a demanding period.
"Cutrone played well and I am pleased with his goal, he's going through a positive period: he's scoring goals and you can see his self-confidence. While for André Silva it's different, you see he makes the right movements, he just needs that final touch, but we all believe he can do well because he has already shown his quality".
"Kalinic? I might bring him with us against Cagliari, he could start from the bench. Romagnoli? Physically, he did very well. He probably could have played more and I am sure that's what he wanted, but I preferred to take things one step at the time".After the match, Niccolò Zanellato was also interviewed by Milan TV:
"I am happy with my debut, it's a dream come true. I am working well and the boss rewarded me, I think I deserved to make this debut". Qulaification and positive performance: "I am happy because Europe is AC Milan's home and this debut makes twice as happy. The boss didn't give me any hint about starting me. I want to thank him for this big opportunity". On Locatelli and Cutrone, teammates back in the Youth Academy: "It's great, the younger the squad is and more I feel at ease: today we had the right mix of more experienced and young players. Patrick and I have been playing together for a long time, he's always been stubborn: he has great motivation and this attitude will reward him because he's a great striker. He plays to score. He's not happy until he scores. I am happy because we have shared a lot as kids in the Academy and playing together in Europe is amazing. Playing with Loca and Patrick is really unique and the merit goes to our Youth Sector".https://www.acmilan.com/en/news/europa- ... tive-night
